MAKING MUSIC WITH MEL
M E L M’rabet has earned international acclaim as a virtuoso on oud, guitar, saz, guembri, and percussion. Born to musician parents, and raised in Granada, Andalusia, Mel is also a composer and a brilliant singer, as you may know from his work on Daniela Nardi's The Rose Tattoo.
Ron is excited to be playing with Mel for the first time on Friday February, 25 2011, at the beautiful Gallery 345 in Toronto. The music will fuse genres from traditional Arabic-Andalusian to jazz and western forms including the blues. It will be a perfect musical alchemy.
The group will also include the brilliantly inventive Chris Gartner on bass, and percussion master Rick "Samba Squad" Lazar.
This will be an evening of adventurous, beautiful, exciting music, like nothing you've ever heard, in a gorgeous venue.
Please join Ron for this exciting concert. The show begins at 8 PM. Tickets are $20; $15 Senior; $10 Student. Reserve now. Seating is limited. Call 416-822-9781 or email gallery345@gmail.com.
