Welcome to The Pianobabbler's Companion. Every Monday, the Pianobabbler writes his- as the Pianobabbler.com title puts it - Blog in the Life of a Musician. In The Pianobabbler's Companion I supplement the Monday post with some video, or audio or writing that unpacks, elaborates, enhances my Monday morceau.
Last Monday The Pianobabbler babbled about The Beauty of Simplicity. The Simplicity of Beauty. The focus was a video by Italian singer-songwriter Vinicio Capossela.
The Pianobabbler has been working with award-winning singer/composer Daniela Nardi on her Espresso Manifesto project. New approaches to new Italian music.
Capossela is just one of many contemporary Italian singer-songwriters the Pianobabbler has discovered. The Italians are making some might fine pop, jazz-influenced music these days.
